Firepath Digital Productions
Firepath Digital is the brainchild of Robert Whitsitt and Lana Bryan, two aspiring digital filmmakers. We regularly work with friends and associates to make digital films, and are working on several scripts.
Current Projects
These projects involving Firepath Digital are in various stages of completion.
- Script in Final Preparation, Spring 2006 - Capital Punishment - What if a person was chosen at random to actually carry out the verdict of the court?
- Script Ready To Start, Fall 2006 - Urban Scarecrow - A friend, looking at a line of telephone poles with shoes hanging by their laces from the lines, said, "Look, an urban scarecrow!" The title was irresistible, so Bob turned it into a story about one man's fight to make the world safe from muggers and rapists. A noble goal, but perhaps not best accomplished with his violent spree.
- Script Nearly Completed, Summer 2006 - The Clock Strikes Eleven - On Lana's birthday in November 2000, Bob and Lana came up with this love story about two middle aged people whose wife and husband are gone.
- Shot, Spring 2001 - Belly Button Boogie Music Video - Bob, Lana, her sister Nancy, and some friends shot a music video of the percussion ensemble GrooveCamp performing their piece Belly Button Boogie. Due to problems with the editing software, there has been no progress since then. Sigh.
Completed Projects
These projects involving Firepath Digital are in the can (well, in the hard drive and on videotape).
- Assistant Director, 2005 - Nightmare on Film Street - Bob is Assistant Director on this project by Writer/Producer/Director/Cinematoraphor Jerry Anderson (see Anderwell Productions and FreeFilmSchool.Org, your online film school to learn everything about independent filmmaking). Nightmare on Film Street is a fifteen minute comedy/horror short about one night in the life of Mary and Norman. They recently moved in together and have some uncertainty and doubt about their future. Each of them has dreams where they live out a scene from a familiar movie, but with unexpected endings. Nightmare has been shown at several film festivals, including the Hollywood DV Festival and the Tiburon International Film Festival.
- Assistant Director, 2002 - Objet d'Art - Bob is Assistant Director and Lana is Production Assistant on this project by Writer/Producer/Director Cynthia Benson and Director of Photography Jerry Anderson (see Anderwell Productions and FreeFilmSchool.Org, your online film school to learn everything about independent filmmaking). Objet d'Art is a short film that explores the intense effect of beauty not only on the beholders but on those who possess it, as shown by one night in a bar with two young women, three Italian waiters, and a red Jaguar XKE.
- Production Assistant, Summer 2002 - A Day at the Movies - A Visit to the Set of the Movie Skin Deep - In the summer of 2002, Bob and his friend Jerry Anderson (see Anderwell Productions and FreeFilmSchool.Org, your online film school to learn everything about independent filmmaking) spent a day working as Production Assistants on the feature Skin Deep (see the official Skin Deep Web site). Bob wrote an article about the experience using photographs that Jerry took.
- Production Assistant, Summer 2001 - A Rendezvous with Audrey - Bob served as Production Assistant for the entire shoot in the summer of 2001, and Lana acted as Production Assistant for one day. The result is a short film about a man who has a second chance at his first love.
